Bio: Heath Ledger began acting in high school, and unsatisfied with the opportunities that Perth provided decided to go to Sydney to get discovered. Ledger got his first big role in the 1999 release of 10 Things I Hate About You (an remake of Shakespear‘s Taming of the Shrew), where he stared with Julia Stiles. He took on many other substantial roles for which he received a lot of position recognition. He received and was nominated for several awards for his performances in Monsters Ball, Brokeback Mountain and Batman: The Dark Knight. At the age of 28, Heath Ledger passed away on January 22nd, 2008 in Manhattan New York of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. He will be missed not only by family, but also by his fans and the film industry.
